SAC reiterates call for armed groups, including PDF, to join nation- building

Phyo/Thet Paing (NP News) - July 5

The State Administration Council (SAC) reiterated its invitation on July 4th, saying that those who have chosen the armed path, including PDF members, are welcome to join if they wish to contribute to the country and the region.

The invitation states that armed groups, including the PDF, are welcome to cooperate with the government and the Tatmadaw in working toward national and regional interests. It emphasizes that they must operate legally within the framework of the law and may contact nearby military bases and local authorities for coordination.

According to the invitation, all armed groups, including the PDF, who have taken the armed path, whether they have accepted the propaganda of the CRPH and NUG that the Tatmadaw, which is responsible for all state powers under the constitution, is pulling back democracy, or have believed that their own beliefs and convictions are correct, are included.

The invitation states that CRPH and NUG, which have been declared a terrorist group under the Anti-Terrorism Act due to their terrorist activities, and according to recent information on social media, have not been recognized by their leadership and have been illegally formed for their personal interests, have been trying to cover up their vote rigging and attempts to seize state power by force and continue to hold on to state power illegally, thus portraying themselves as the elected government.

The invitation was made because the vision of the government, the people, the Tatmadaw, ethnic armed organizations, PDF, and the legitimate political parties is to build a union based on democracy and federalism.

The SAC has set five points roadmap and is working hard to hold a multi-party democratic general election, and has come a long way so far. The invitation states that a free and fair multi-party democratic general election is the gateway to a union based on democracy and federalism.

Therefore, continuing to follow the armed path will not benefit the country, but will only be a step backwards in democracy. The goal of establishing a union based on democracy and federalism should not be lost due to the ideological conflicts of the CRPH and NUG, but we must continue to walk on the path of our beliefs and aspirations. The armed path has caused the loss of many young people's lives and the loss of human resources for the union that we are building.

Therefore, the invitation states that, having learned from the fact that the armed struggle has been going on for over 70 years, but has not yielded any results and has delayed the development of the country, armed groups including the PDF need to fully cooperate, taking into account the lack of peace and stability in their regions, the socio-economic lives of their parents, brothers, sisters and relatives who have been affected and are suffering due to their participation in the armed struggle, and the need for peace and stability in their regions and comprehensive development including education and health.
