Battery-powered locomotives set to arrive, enter service soon

“Battery-powe­red railway locomotives will also arrive soon and will be put into use,” said the State Administration Council Chairman, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at a meeting of the SAC’s word coordination meeting held in Naypyidaw on May 20.
He said that although the import of electric vehicles (EV) has been allowed to reduce fuel consumption, there are restrictions due to the need for foreign money.
Similarly, if public transportation is further encouraged and used more, it will be possible to reduce the amount of fuel imported from abroad each year. Regarding transportation, the SAC Chairman said that the transition to an electric transportation system should be continued.
