Deputy Minister of MOALI urges to increase fish farming

Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation (MOALI) Dr. Aung Gyi urged the stakeholders to increase fish production and fish farming instead of fishing naturally produced aqua resources.

The deputy minister met with officers from Myanmar Fisheries Federation on 4th November in Yangon.

He urged and discussed the matters related to having enough meat and fish foods, preserving local fishery species, increasing fish farming, ensuring to have a guaranteed fish market, and conducting farming and production processes in line with the standard operating procedures that are exercised in the international and regional countries.

He added encouraging to perform fish farming and production instead of fishing natural resources; and to prioritize safety for consumers.

The deputy minister also visited and inspected the offshore fishing vessels monitoring center located in east Gyogon part of Insein Township in Yangon on that day.
