False information is being circulated by PDF groups, claiming that a Tatmadaw fighter jet that crashed in Pale Township was brought down by their attack. In reality, the crash was due to a technical malfunction.
According to reports, the fighter jet crashed on June 10 at approximately 12:15 pm near Sapa Se Village, around 2,000 meters east of Mintinepin Village in Pale Township.
A statement from the State Administration Council (SAC) said that the Myanmar Air Force’s fighter jet was conducting a training flight when it experienced a sudden technical failure in the area near the above-mentioned village, resulting in a crash and subsequent fire upon impact with the ground.
Despite these facts, PDF groups are spreading disinformation that the crash was caused by their attack. One such PDF leader, Bo Swan (Dha Ma Saing), wrote on his Facebook page, “Value the truth. The jet fighter crash in Pale Township, Yinmarbin District, Sagaing Region is confirmed. No group shot it down.”
Some international media outlets have also been misled by these false PDF claims and are reporting them as facts.
At present, security personnel have been deployed to the crash site to carry out necessary security measures, and relevant authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the technical malfunction, according to official sources. –
