While attending the Peace Forum 2025, the Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) stated that ethnic armed groups and terrorist PDF groups have consistently been invited to peace talks, urging them to abandon the armed path and transition toward party politics and the electoral process.
He stated the above by saying, "Ethnic armed organizations, extremist groups, and terrorist PDF groups that are attacking the State have repeatedly been invited to abandon the path of armed struggle and resolve political issues through the party political path and the electoral process. Political issues can only be resolved through political means — through dialogue at the negotiation table — and this forum serves to reaffirm the welcoming of all to the peace talks."
In addition, he highlighted, “As we move towards a multi-party democracy, differences of opinion and individual desires are natural. However, demanding these desires through armed struggle is the wrong approach. The only correct way to resolve political problems is through political means.”
Therefore, he urged ethnic armed groups and other armed insurgents to pursue solutions to their aspirations through political channels.
He also stated that ever since the SAC took state responsibility, eternal peace has been prioritized. Therefore, necessary committees were formed. Since February 2021, the path for peace talks has been open, and invitations for peace discussions with no preconditions have always been extended.
The SAC Chairman stated that they invited all eligible participants to the current Peace Forum. He acknowledged that some were unable to attend for various reasons. He emphasized that the SAC, prioritizing the nation and its people, extends a welcoming hand to everyone for dialogue and discussions.
The SAC Chairman concluded his discussion speech by reiterating an invitation, stating that “It would be better for the country if the relevant organizations meet and negotiate sooner, rather than later.” –
