According to information obtained from interviews by The Statesman, there is a need to crack down on illegal online gambling and agents, which have become widespread among the public.
Currently, online gambling operators and agents target social media users on platforms such as Facebook, Telegram, and Viber. They also send SMS messages to promote their gambling games and attract players.
Furthermore, the number of people playing these gambling games, which require only a telephone and mobile money, is currently increasing on the ground.
Additionally, some ordinary online users have been seen acting as agents for gambling games on social media sites such as Facebook. Originally, football betting was widespread, but now online gambling is becoming increasingly common.
“The main thing is that there are now more bookmakers and agents than the bettors. There are two points here. First, open the sports, which is also available internationally. If you are skilled in eSports, football, or tennis, you can place bets and participate. The government also collects taxes, and similar operations happen abroad. But there is one thing: don’t encourage slot machines at all. Now it’s not just football, but slot machines as well. Football is straightforward, we can see that clearly. But slots are tightly controlled. There are now many digital software options available,” said one informed source.
Online gambling operators and agents are reportedly under the control of groups that engage in illegal online gambling and financial fraud, and are forced to advertise and recruit victims through Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) models.
Currently, illegal 2D and 3D slot games such as 55Mix, Ibet789, Batman and Redbull, as well as Jackpot games and various card games are openly advertised on social media, and agents and players are being recruited.
Therefore, a retired police colonel recommends that operators and agents who openly advertise and offer illegal online gambling services on social media must be swiftly stopped.
During the past month. it is reported that nearly 900 bank accounts and phone numbers used by online gambling operators and agents were blocked or suspended. –
